This documentary is a companion to the installation “Have You Seen My Friends”. This is based on the methodology and study of elders as a living archive and fragmentation as form in film. This is a revisiting of collective memory and tracing the identity of the past to the identity of the present. Featuring the voices of pioneer musicians of the Zamrock era (a rock and roll movement in 1970s Zambia), Emmanuel Jagari Chanda, Patrick Mwondela of the band WITCH, along with contemporary Zambian elders, artists, creative leaders and thinkers, this film is a poetic reflection on identity, migration, grief and creativity.
